Reflections (and true confessions)…

Twice a week, I spend a special time of devotional worship, a set-aside time from my regular day and my other times with the Lord. The Lord has uniquely created each of us, and He created me with a love of worship. So these set-aside times, even though early in the morning, aren’t a “chore” or a “duty”, but a blessing, a gift. Something the Lord highlighted to me today, even though known, bears repeating:

It’s not the singer.
It’s not the song.
It’s not even the worship.

It’s the Object of worship, the One True Living God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I once heard someone talk about Lucifer, the angel of light, the leader of worship in heaven. They described their imaginings of the hosts of heaven worshipping before the throne, worshipping the Lord, led by Lucifer. They described the worship pouring forth, washing forward in waves, and Lucifer’s focus being drawn from the One being worshipped, to the worship itself, and then beginning to desire the worship FOR himself. We all know the end of THAT story.
Well, let me tell you, there doesn’t have to be hosts or hundreds or even 10 people worshipping, for the worshipper to lose focus. A worshipper can become focused on the song, on the instrument, on the sound of their own voice…yeah, that sounds good! oh, I should play that chord differently…man, my voice is really sounding GREAT today! You get the picture.

Does God need us to worship Him? Even creation declares His glory!
Psalms 19:1-4
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

Luke 19:37-40
Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying:
“ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”
But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

If every voice of worship on earth was silenced, the very rocks would cry out.

Jesus, ever be the focus of my worship. More than my song, let my life worship You. Your Glory, God, is what our hearts long for!

Do you need FAITH? ~ I’ve Got A Testimony

I know that so many of us have prayer concerns and desperate situations that we need God to break in on. He alone is the One that does the impossible! I love the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18: 1-8. In verses 7-8 it says:

And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly…”

“Justice” – To make the wrong things right, or I like to think about it as — To take back what the enemy has stolen. This past Tuesday night at the House of Prayer we prayed for Salvation, Unity, and Revival – and my testimony is WOW! During the time of worship and prayer and even after – I came away with my FAITH soaring and believing that God is so good and that He can do what no one else can do!

The rest of verse 8 says:  “However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find FAITH on the earth?”

Do you need a FAITH builder? Are you feeling like the enemy is winning sometimes or that things will never change? Again, let me testify about the power behind corporate worship & prayer… when everyone is pressing in and believing on God and placing all of their FAITH upon Him…it is an amazing atmosphere to be in!

What is God looking for?

He is looking for FAITH!

Hebrews 11:6 says: And without FAITH it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”

He is a good good Father and He wants to give good gifts to His children. So remember – Keep believing and place your FAITH in the FAITH GIVER! All glory to God!

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1
